Work-speak: Share the Career Jargon You Hate
We efforted to get this post up earlier, but at the end of the day, our plates were too full and we just didn’t have the bandwidth to get it up before 8 a.m.
Ha ha ha! So kidding. Who talks like that?
Oh wait, many of us do.
That’s right. The jargon you see above is part of everyday corporate speak, a vocabulary that binds us cube-folk together like rubber cement. A recent Chicago Tribune article examines this phenomenon.
Now, it’s time to fight the power.
Let’s break the chokehold of this ridiculous language. We named a few of ours and the article adds “circle back,” “drill down,” and signing e-mails with “best” sans the “regards.”
Add to this list of work-related terms you absolutely hate. The best ones will earn a spot in this post.
