Kyra launched her creative career at age 4 while reporting “live” through mirrors to imaginary viewers.  Fittingly enough, with her comfort in front of the camera (and mirrors), Kyra later graduated from Northwestern University with both a bachelor’s and master’s in journalism.  After graduation, Kyra worked in at WICD-TV in Champaign , IL earning accolades for on-the-spot coverage, community relations and court reporting.  

Kyra opted to try the corporate side of communications, and spent five years in the trenches starting as a media relations specialist for a boutique technology PR firm before working her way up to a role as vice president of media and public relations for an investment bank.  But the call of the newsroom was too loud to be ignored and Kyra, a frequent contributor to the Chicago Sun-Times, Vibe.com and The Rap Sheet, returned to journalism full time.  She works as a columnist, reporter, blogger and broadcast correspondent in Chicago.
