Kerry Yang
Kerry Yang
Director of Photography/Editor
The majority of Kerry’s films explore unconventional narrative structure and experiment with the use of satire. So you can only imagine how well she fit in on the so-satirical-it-was-sick set of our film. Kerry’s work also consists of a bit of black humor informed by her Chinese-Taiwanese heritage. Her works have been screened and exhibited in festivals and galleries in Chicago such as the Asian American Film Festival and Undergraduate Film & Video Festival at the Gene Siskel Film Center. Kerry has written and directed most of her films, placing a strong emphasis on the role of Director of Photography. She believes that through sophisticated camera work, a single shot is able to develop its tensions and speaks to its potential narrative, silently. Among her accolades, Kerry is the 2010 recipient of the James Nelson Raymond Fellowship for the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
